Next Meeting March 08, 2011

 

Members present: Ray Pearce, Leonard Pearce, Jan Harnish,  Jeff Stoll,  Don Pownell, Wayne  Jones, Gordon & Jean Strom, Bill Harnish, and Eddie Garro, new member

President Ray Pearce called meeting to order at 7:00p

Ray stated that Laurie Karm turned in her resignation as Secretary. She stated that she really did not have the time to take on the duties of the club’s secretary.  Ray nominated Jan and it was 1st by Don Pearce and 2nd by Don Pownell.

Treasurer’s Report $4,373.47 with a $25.00 deposit to be made. Don Pearce 1st Don Pownell 2nd

Old Business:

Prime Rib Ride: Ray said that there were over 40 people show up at the Pearce’s for Prime Rib. Jan made a motion that a donation jar be set for future Prime Rib as more and more riders show each year.

Webb Creek Safety Shelter:  Jeff Stoll said that Dave Harness donated a backboard and Laurie and Gary donated a battery operated lantern and batteries and a blanket, plus took over TP for the toilet.   Erik donated a wool blanket and a 1st aid kit to be left at the shelter. Jeff took up a lot of  newspaper for firestarter. He said we still need a fire extinguisher. Don Pownell mention taking over cups, utensils, pans and maybe some instant food.  Ray made the motion to give $50.00 towards the purchase of what was needed. It was voted for and Don Pearce 1st and Don Pownell 2nd.

Web Page: Ray stated that it is up and running and members need to go to look at it.

Bathrooms: Bill stated that they got the toilets cleaned at Baby Wagon and Munkress Pass. Baby Wagon toilet took an hour as the state had piled snow around it, when they plowed out the parking lot. They had to shovel down to get to the door that was left open and the toilet was full of snow. He stated that they still hadn’t got to Webb Creek Shelter yet. Laurie and Gary took some TP there last Saturday.

 

Fun Days and Jackson Hole Hill Climb: Ray asked if anyone would like to participate in either event. There will be awards for some of the club members handed out at Fun Days. Need to contact Jan for details if anyone wants to go.

March’s Ride: Jeff Stoll said March 12th meet at the Hazelton Parking Lot at 9:00 am. We will end up at his house for snacks. The rest is a surprise.

Meadowlark Hill Climb: Jeff is to contact the Rocky Mountain Hill Climb Association asap. Wayne stated that his insurance  will cover the event and possibly the Worland club will help. Jeff will advise us as soon as he finds out something. Wayne stated the end of April would be a good time.

Trail Marking from the Pines: Nothing has been done yet.  Ray said he’d try to contact the state. Maybe get Mark Coffman with state trails to ride over the old trails with him. Jeff and Gordy volunteered to help.

Avalanche Class: Bill stated it is still on for Feb. 24th for Worland, 25th Buffalo at 7:00 pm. (Search and Rescue Bldg), and 26th at Deer Haven.

MS Auction: Bill said that there was a good turn out. Auctioned off each of the Deer Haven Certificates for $185.00 each and Erik donated a   helmet that auctioned off for $145.00.

Exhibition Snowmobile Riders: Jeff stated that Erik has been working on it

WSSA Window Stickers were handed out to the Associates that were present at the meeting. The rest will be sent to the Associates with an appreciation letter.

Big Horn Sno Goers are having their monthly meeting at Deer Haven this Sat the 12th at 5:00 pm. Anyone that wants to go.

Club Insurance was voted against and cancelled at the last meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Jan will need reimbursed for the club’s web site charge of $34.95. Don P. 1st and Jeff 2nd

The Hampton Inn in Pinedale has special 2011 pricing for any members interested. Contact Jan.

Poker Run: Wayne mentioned he had a lot of cabin owners wondering about putting on a Poker Run. Wayne thought it would be good for both the Sno Goers and the PRSB’s to get involved. There was a lot of discussion on it. Bill, Wayne, Gordy, Jeff, and Ray will head it up Sat night at the Worland’s meeting.

Bill mentioned to Ray that when he talks to Mark Coffman, to see if they can take the Groomer to Pole Creek Road to turn around like they used to.
